Introduction of North Point and North Point Hill

North Point is located in Hong Kong Island. It extends north to Victoria Harbour, west to oil street, east to border of King's road and Mansion St. The scope include Fortress Hill Station , North Point Station and some of Quarry Bay Station of MRT. North Point Hill is the upscale residential area of North Point. It is a tranquil and low density residential area, where many of the property have sea views or mountain views. North Point consists of North Point, Tin Hau and Fortress Hill. North Point and Fortress Hill is a very densely populated area with many large but old high-rise buildings. Whereas Tin Hau is more spacious in comparison with both new and old apartments and some new commercial high-rise buildings and hotels. Electric Road is filled with local restaurants which many residents in North Point find very convenient and attractive. North Point Hill is considered a high-end residential area in the North Point area with some stand alone buildings and some upscale estates. There are a few large housing complexes around Choi San Woo Park with the greenery view of the park.


【History】

In 1880, British Forces set up battery which started the history of the North Point.
In1900s', deep water and high shoreside attracted many people came and built the shipping company, warehouse and quay. The original head company of Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club was set up at this time.
In 1919, Hong Kong Electric Company closed down the power station in Wan Chai and built a new one in North Point.
In 1921, sugar refinery started to be built but it changed into residential property because of the Canton-Hong Kong strike. Which was the area in current Chun Yeung Street.
In 1935, King's Road was opened to traffic and drove the development of this area. North Point became a new industry area.
In 1950, according to the Guinness World Record at that time, North Point was the most populous area of the world. Many staffs in the nightclubs are from Shanghai, so here also be called as " Little Shanghai".
In 1957, North Point Estate completed and the North Point Ferry Pier started to serve.
In 1980s', new immigrants major from Fujian and the North Point changed in to " Little Fujian"
From 60s' until now, many residential properties and commercial buildings built and North Point changed into mix area of residential properties and commercial buildings. It getting more flourishing.

North Point belongs to one of the mix areas of residential properties and commercial buildings which developer can decide for residential and commercial use as their will. The location of City Garden former was North Point power station. The project in cover area of 400,000 sq ft and there is a garden square in the central.
