Quarry Bay

Quarry Bay located in Mount Parker of east district, the east area of North Point. There was granite quarry in the 19 century and the stone which used for road building delivered by sea after collected hence the name " Quarry Bay". The Quarry Bay used mainly were industrial park and residence area and there are more and more commercial building these years.

The Quarry Bay used mainly are industrial park and residence area. Benefit from the construction idea of Taikoo Shing, many shopping malls are located in the community . For example, there are large shopping center JUSCO in Kornhill Plaza, and Cityplaza supply full commodity in Taikoo Shing. It is very convenient work, live and shopping here.

Kornhill Plaza
Kornhill Plaza located on top of Tai Koo Station and has shopping mall, service apartments and office building. There are large Japanese department store Jusco in the shopping mall. Cityplaza
Cityplaza built by Swire Properties Limited and is the popular shopping mall in Taikoo Shing which is the large private house project in HK Island district. It is the Taikoo Dockyard reconstruct plan which was started in 1975 and aim to build one of the largest private comprehensive community including commercial and retail in Hong Kong. Cityplaza cover area in 1,1 million sq ft and has more than 160 shops supplying diversified shopping environment. Quarry Bay Park cover area in 9.79 hectares and has many dynamic facilities such as The Fireboat Alexander Grantham Museum, "Fashion Park" test program, artificial grass football field for 7 persons, basketball field, children's amusement park, jogging track, bicycle track, fitness facilities, beach park, tai chi garden, tennis court, view platform and the snacks stands, etc. It service started from 17th, June, 1994 managed by Leisure and Cultural Services Department. [Transportation ]
Quarry Bay's transportation is very convenient because there many bus lines and two metro lines through here and there also 4 minibus lines in Kornhill house. So many taxi drivers complain the business is bad in this district.

[Education]
St. Mary's Canossian College in Quarry Bay found by Canossian Daughters of Charity in 1900 and it is one of the famous school in Hong Kong. One of the school building St. Michael Building rank as Hong Kong secondary historical building. Many famous women in entertainment, law, political and economic industry were studied at St. Mary's Canossian College.
